Hey Friends
Hope everyone is doing well and enjoying some of the last days of summer.
LIVE!
Recently, I did a live stream with Adobe, it was kind of a cool bucket list item for me. There are a few things I felt like would be validating as a designer and an Adobe live stream was one of them. The next goal is to finally get to do something with It’s Nice That
I was pretty nervous going into the stream to be honest, even though I have recorded myself designing a bunch of stuff for youtube, its differntbecause you get to edit and dictate the flow.
I honestly haven’t done much designing live. Sometimes I get a little bit insecure about the concept that I’m trying to come up with or maybe the process not being as entertaining as I would like it to be.
With edited videos, you can easily cut out the boring parts, make it look more seamless, and overall come across a little bit more confident. But with live, your right up in there it’s as slow or as fast as you make it.
I only had about 50 minutes to complete the design so I knew I wanted to bust out something kinda simple and typographic for Knocked Loose.
I have been listening to a lot more hard-core again lately and in a sense going back to some of my punk and hard-core roots
I feel like I got a little bit out of the scene for the past few years when I moved to LA and hung out with a different group of friends who are into far different types of music. (Shotuout Perfect Dark Though).
But now that I’m back in my hometown and with friends who are into that stuff it’s really sparked my love for it again and not only from a Design standpoint but from overall music and scene angle.

I even saw someone the other night who said they knew me from Instagram at the Hardcore show and It felt pretty cool because it was kind of a worlds collide moment. Sorry for that little tangent there but anyway designing live.
It was pretty stressful but here’s the finished poster and I was honestly pretty happy with how it turned out considering I only had about 47 minutes with the intro and outro and all that.
The Adobe producer Paco was really chill too and he was actually a Knocked Loose fan, so I think it all turned out great overall.
Doing that livestream honestly made me realize I haven’t been designing much personal work lately, due to being busy with other creative projects, YouTube, and honestly, just trying to enjoy life. That is kind of the downside to giving yourself a little bit more grace and prioritizing your mental health over productivity or producing personal projects.
Yeah you probably do feel better overall and I’ve been having so much fun lately just enjoying time out in the world, but I am a little disappointed by my output lately in the art/personal work department. Maybe this is just a slower moment in my overall creative journey but who knows?
At the end of the day, I’m just constantly trying to find a balance of fulfillment as both a designer and a human
Much love and see y’all next week!
