The Unfair Advantage
Hey Friends
Been kicking off the new year strong and stoked to keep it moving throughout 2022. I have a lot of stuff in the chamber I am excited to show y'all. How has your January been so far?
My love Letter to Analog Design
As many of you know I have been experimenting with designs that have heavy workflow outside of the computer. I recently published my Renaissance Behance project that I'm super proud of. These past 3-4 months have been amazing for really digging deeper in my design work and staying curious. I think trying new things and exploring other avenues of design like printing, 3d, coding, etc are important to continue to grow. Thank you all for the mad support on this stuff, I'm excited to keep learning and creating this year.

Decentralized Record Label
In addition to some of my personal practices, I recently wrapped up an amazing branding project. A lot of my freelance work I don't share online is centered around logo design and brand identity. The finished logo and advert above are for a company that approached me called Shrine House. You can check out the full project HERE. Shrine House is an example of something beneficial that decentralization and crypto technology can do for artists, The idea is the first decentralized music label that puts the power back into artists/musicians hands as well as the community rather than traditional predatory labels. I had a lot of fun working on the branding and was stoked to incorporate my fav font Neue Haas Grotesk as well as the color orange, the entire project was a success and was a nice highlight in the sometimes bittersweet world of freelancing.

SkateFruit NFT
I have been asked a lot more lately about NFTs. I told myself I wouldn't mint any more artworks until this Skatefruit one on foundation sold. If you are interested you can check it out here or the link below. My Skatefrut piece is something I was passionate about creating so I minted it early this year. It was one of my first finished collages I was very proud of and was created during a strange pointing my life in college. I didn't do much promotion though because of mixed feelings. I think NFTs can be amazing for artists but I also feel like there is a lot of exploitation, money laundering, and overall ignorance about the technology going on. With that being said I am not completely closing my mind to the idea of future endeavors with it. How do you all feel about NFTs, crypto and Web 3.0? If you wanna be a part of something smaller I also created these fun Sticky Coins a while back that are super cheap:)

You already have what it takes to succeed
I recently read this book called The Unfair Advantage. The basics of it are about identifying what advantage you have to give yourself that much needed edge in this world. It's so easy to feel discouraged and focus on the things you don't have. However a simple shift in mindset and looking at the glass half full can do wonders for your creative pursuits and overall mental health. I am focusing this year on honing in the skills that make me who I am, as well as practicing gratefulness. There is also going to be someone better than you, worse off than you, and everything in between. The key is to focus on yourself, follow your passions and the rest will follow.
Stuff I currently like and stuff I'm looking forward to!

I hope you all have an amazing Sunday and a great upcoming week. Move with intention and don't let the outside noise distract you from your pursuits. We all have a reason for being here, there's just no one way to figure that purpose out.
