The Costs of Opportunity
Hey Friends
Hope you all are doing well this fine Sunday and keeping it moving in this strange life.
The Costs of Opportunity
So I recently was a part of this campaign for “creators” promoting an Acer laptop. It was cool and all but they def put me in some questionable clothing haha. I was scared at first to post the campaign because I have always been confronted with the idea of being a “sellout”
However, up top, I wanted to say that people have been showing mad love on the post and it def eased some of my anxiety. I think maybe stuff like that could be considered “selling out” and if it isn’t cool. But at the end of the day, as long as it doesn't promote anything I completely hate I’m down for these opportunities.
The way I look at it is, doing these more commercial things here and there give me the budget to create more of the stuff I want to do without being stressed out about money. Money shouldn’t matter, but you only get the privilege of feeling that way when you have enough to cover your basic needs, and that’s just capitalism baby.
The whole experience tho was pretty surreal, like I was on SET IN HOLLYWOOD! I never would have thought I’d be doing that when I was sitting in my college dorm playing Overwatch and trying to figure out how to use Indesign hahaha. I’m very grateful and excited to see what the future holds for me and all the stuff I’m doing.
When it comes down to it though, like I said in the last issue, I still always want design to be Front and Center with my “content”. I’ve been having a lot of fun this past week just desiring personal stuff and making videos, and this next week I’m finally going on my vacation. What are y’all looking forward too in your lives??
Anywayyyy, maybe I’ll hit y’all with a vacation newsletter next weeek but if not, I’ll see you for sure the one after.
Stuff I currently like and stuff I'm looking forward to!
playing Hearthstone again (taking challengers lol)
