This year was absolutely nuts for my development as a designer and my growth on different channels. I just hit 20k on Instagram which is insane considering I started with like 2k this year, my youtube is on its way to 5000 subs, there are over 30 patrons now on my Patreon and around 100 of you on this newsletter. I cannot thank you all enough. I am very grateful and hope I offer value to you in return.
This upcoming year I am excited to ramp it up even more. I am finally in a nice groove with balancing youtube, freelance, and the podcast, Look out for better and bigger podcasts this year, more youtube videos, and a shit ton of designs on IG. Maybe some shitposting on Twitter as well. Again I want to shout out to the patrons because with the help of y'all I am able to create more art. If you want more videos, podcasts, and personal design work go check out Patreon for a bunch of goodies.
I know in the last section I was just talking about how grateful I am for growth but that still doesn't stop my imposter syndrome. The image above I think explains the reason for it well and was curious about your thoughts on this phenomenon. I feel like the better you get at something you realize still how much more possibilities there are and this can feel overwhelming which causes identity crisis or imposter syndrome. I feel it all the time but I try to stay grounded and get through it. Sometimes my best work comes out of that place of doubt or fear though. Maybe that feeling is necessary to help keep our creative determination thriving.
I say it every year but this year I am really going to start journaling more. It is so important to write stuff down and reflect on how you're feeling during different points of life. I am excited to use this daily pocket notebook and as always my trusty field notes. Do you all journal or plan your days out with an analog planner? I was looking back at some of the journal entries I did this past year and it is crazy to see the mindset shifts especially through having different jobs and all the issues around Covid. The things I am going to focus on journaling this year are
my growth on social media channels
my progress as a designer
My mood and overall personal relationships
my mental health as a freelancer and individual
my finances and tax stuff
Stuff I currently like and stuff I'm looking forward to!
Been getting back into Hearthstone
Safehaven's Ghost Hardware brand
Hard to Kill by Bleached
Stoked for Search Party to come back on

This year has been a wild one and I'm sure 2022 has a lot more in store for myself and all of you. I am excited to connect with more of y'all and continue to grow as an individual and together. Good luck in 2022.
