Hey Friends
Hope y’all are loving well and enjoying this summer heat (if ya have it where you are)
Delayed gratification
I tend to fall into this kind of ADHD driven manic episode where I have a good idea and I need to concept, execute and get it into the world as fast as possible.
While this has resulted in some beautiful spur-of-the-moment ideas and the capturing of “lightning” (as Rick Rubin would say)
I don’t believe it’s terribly healthy.
While I do think creative ideas have an expiration date and you have to pounce when the iron is hot, taking your time is okay.
I recently was fortunate enough to secure a couple of upcoming brand partnerships with big clients and ones that pay very well
What does this mean though?
Well, frankly it gives me a lot more freedom this summer and the privilege to pursue genuine creative projects.
I haven’t been doing my best at practicing what I preach regarding slow growth and taking my time with things.
This whole idea was sparked by the video I am currently working on.
I’ve never been good at relaxing or taking my time with things though
For the past 4-5 weeks I fell back into the trap of wanting to post a YouTube video every week to keep this
Momentum
And
Growth
However
This time around I am practicing a more methodical approach.
This video (at the very least design-wise) is probably the proudest I have been outside of a few others
But Foreal, the project I made in this upcoming video was super rewarding and it took me a lot longer than most videos do.
I really hope the message translates and it does well considering the extra effort
BUT
I am going to try my best to set healthy boundaries between myself and any metric that’s out of my control
MORE INPUT GOALS
LESS OUTPUT GOALS
“I will produce a video I am proud of”
Rather than
“I want this video to get a lot of views”
Easier said than done, but that’s where I’m at with it currently.
This approach though applies to my design practice as well. I am trying to be better at working on bigger and more thought-out projects than these one-off pieces of “content/art”
More intention and detail-oriented
Delayed gratification on all fronts
What kind of long-term projects do you have going on? (or what to start)

Thanks for reading!
I plan on keeping this newsletter free, but if you want to support, the best way is to buy me a coffee:)
Looking forward to the video man! And also loving this idea of more INPUT goals vs Output goals. Game changer for sure.
