Diversify Your Craft
Hey Friends
November is finally here. This time of year always seems so busy with the holidays, tight project deadlines, and all the new video games that come out! I had a great week overall though. Celebrated my girlfriend's birthday, got a new big project kicked off, and caught up on some video editing. I'm really excited to share all the new stuff I have in the chamber.
Staying Busy
This week was super productive overall and I hope yours was too. I started a giveaway for one of my prints on Instagram. You can still enter that here if you want to. The winner will be announced tomorrow. Posted the Digital Minimalism video that a bunch of you seemed to love. It was my first time editing something a lot that was not so much "graphic design" content. I am still going strong on trying not to let electronics get in the way of my work/daily life. Crazy to think that idea all started from a simple book.
Diversifying
This week I had a super talented digital artist on the podcast named Otherworld. Not only has he sold his work for crazy amounts of money but he is a Bioengineer too. This really got me thinking about how humans are so talented and we don't have to limit ourselves. I have been trying to not let just being a "designer" be my identity. I encourage all of out to be multidisciplinary whenever you can. Try new things, keep killing it at that hobby, find multiple sources of income. Anything to help diversify your life. For me lately, I have been getting even more into collecting records, gearing up for some all the fun video games coming out, and reading more books.
Walking
I wrote about this slightly on my Palm Trees post, but I have been diggin walks. A simple as it sounds I always took them for granted. Since I have been trying to be more of a digital minimalist I have been going on walks without technology. I used to go on walks but would always listen to music, podcasts or just use my phone. However lately I have been going on phone free walks and it is amazing. I highly recommend it, It really clears your mind and you get so many cool ideas.
Stuff I currently like and stuff I'm looking forward too!
This super cool Astro Bright printer paper
Forza Horizon 5 finally coming out!!
Tweet of the week below, RIP MF DOOM
Closing Thoughts
Thanks for all the love as always. The little community I have built so far with Youtube, Instagram, Patreon and now this newsletter continues to be amazing and grow. I'm stoked to keep engaging with you all, If you have anything cool you've been into lately feel free to share it with me too. I'm also kicking off a bunch of collaborations with other dope designers you will see coming soon on Instagram.
Much Love, Glue.
