Christmas Time - Sha La Da La La
Hey Friends
Hope everyone is doing well and if you celebrate then Happy Christmas, if not hope your Sunday is going well nonetheless!
Grateful
As you may have heard from some of my content online or the past newsletters Client work has been hella slow this fall. The plus side to that is I was going hard on content/personal work so more stuff for all of you peoples. The downside is ya boy needs to make a living and pay for my ridiculous rent in California each month lol.
The weird thing about freelancing I have noticed the past year and a half is that right when you’re getting to the point of freaking out (Me last week) it all seems to work out somehow. I was generally pessimistic about that stuff in the past too but it’s like someone or something somewhere has my back.
The past week I got invoices prepared and contracts signed for 2 projects I am very excited about. Not only are they different enough to satisfy two parts of my brain (social media stuff and other one is a logo design) but they are paying pretty well too.
At first, I was a little stressed out with the holidays coming up and everything but trying to practice gratitude more gave me a completely different perspective, Yea it’s going to be busy as fuck balancing these 2 big projects, youtube, and the holidays but I’m honestly so excited.
I am grateful I get to do what I love (almost) every day and am reasonably healthy. I’m also grateful for my friends, family, and wonderful partner Erika. What are y’all grateful for?? Or do you have any exciting client or personal projects coming up?
Merry Chrysler
Like I said above I got those projects coming up and wanna be present during the holidays so probably going to be a little lax on the personal work/content side of things. Don’t worry I’ll still get out the every week or 2 youtube video and this newsletter but I’m going to try to not fall into the pressures of needing to post on IG to satisfy the ever-so-hungry algorithmic monster.
I want to have a good holiday season and also put the effort I can into this upcoming client projects. Sometimes I get so wrapped up in my personal work, planning out stuff online, and client work. Etc. that I am not as present in my normal life.
At the end of the day, the real-life connections we have are the most important so I’m gonna be on my phone less and talking with my loved ones more IRL as they say. Also my cousin is making a smoked brisket on Christmas so I’m stoked for that. It’s weird freelancing sometimes because you go in an out of being super busy, however, so I don't get lazy I fill the more chill times with a bunch of personal work and then once the client work comes rolling back in I’m hella overwhelmed.
Overall though I’m excited to end the 2022 year strong and If 2023 is anything like this past year, I am stoked about it. I hope you all have an amazing time during the holidays and I’ll catch you in the next newsletter in 2023!
